School

The first day of school is always fun. It is great meeting your teachers and classmates. I love seeing what is in store for me this semester as I start my first semester of nursing school. It has been so fun seeing new faces and spending time on campus, despite the snow that seems like it will never stop coming down today. As I have been seeing what is in store, I am starting to feel a bit overwhelmed. I will definitely be busy this semester, but it will be worth it in three years as I am walking across the stage and have my diploma handed to me. I am so excited that my life long dream finally has a end in sight. It feels good to be back at school. It will be a great, yet busy semester for me. As for Chase, his first day is tomorrow. We will see, he is unsure since he has two rather busy and difficult classes, but I am sure that he will do great as long as he applies himself and does not give up. But I guess that is one responsibility as a wife...to encourage and support your husband when he feels like the tasks before him are overwhelming. However, perhaps I am wrong. This is my first experience being a wife and having my husband in school. But I know this semester will be good. At least for me, I have found that I usually do better in a class if I approach it with the attitude that I am not sure how I am going to do in the class, that way I am more motivated to work hard to do well. As opposed to have a class that I think will be a piece of cake that I then do worse in than I should have just because I knew it was an easy class and did not put the time into it. I think that applies to every student out there, but perhaps I am wrong...either way this semester is the beginning of the end for me. I will graduate in December of 2011. While Chase is just at the starting line. He is now talking about getting a Doctorate degree, which I support, it just means we have much school ahead of us. Once again, I love you all and hope you have a great day and thank you for following my blog, in spite of how boring or irrelevant it may seem at time. I love you always and forever -- Ashlee Annie

Christmas and Family

There is nothing like the Christmas season, but especially Christmas day to make you miss family. This year I have grown to miss my family traditions and time spent together. The holiday season was always one that we spent many hours together. This year I don't have that.
Yes we spent Christmas with my husbands siblings. However, it just was not the same. Different traditions, but at the same time so much the same. I am grateful that we were able to spend the day with my in-laws, but more so I can not wait to see my family tomorrow. It will be nice to spend some time with them even if it is after the fact. I love you all and once again thank you for reading my blog -- Ashlee Annie

Unsure about the future

Do you ever feel like when somethings start to fall into place in your life, other things tend to fall apart? Do you ever feel like final there is light at the end of one tunnel, while at the same time the light from other tunnels is no longer found? Am I making any sense? Right now, so many things are going just perfectly. I have an amazing husband who is always there for me and loves me no matter what. I finally am entering nursing school, something I have been trying to accomplish for almost two years now. I have a job that gives tuition reimbursement and health insurance for way cheaper than we would be able to get it, even through BYU. I am currently working with my bishop to become a temple worker. Many things in my personal life are in more of a routine than they have been in a long time. But to be honest, I still feel like something is missing. I feel like even though I may pray and ask my family to join with me in prayer, those prayers may not always be answered. But in my heart I know that they were answered the way the Lord knew they should be. But I lack the knowledge to see how that is going to help and be to my benefit. I don't feel like I am lacking faith, but more understanding. How do I gain this understanding that I feel like am lacking so much? I am trying to have faith that the Lord has my best interest at heart, but I just don't see how this is going to work out for me. I am trying to have faith and know that it will work out. I never knew faith could be so hard for me. I guess, maybe this is what I am supposed to learn. -- Ashlee

Temple

I love the temple. I always have. Growing up I always looked forward to our family trips to the temple. So when I came up to BYU for school, I tried to go to the temple about once a week or more. After I get endowed, I have gone to the temple at least once a week, and some weeks I will go up to four times. I love the spirit of the Lord's holy house. Ever since I was about 13 or 14, I always looked forward to being able to work in the temple. But you have to be endowed to be a temple worker. So I look forward to someday working in the temple. Last week I was talking to my Grandma Tew and told her this. She told me that I can talk to my bishop to become a temple worker. So hopefully by the end of the month I will be set-apart and everything to be a temple worker. The best part of this is that I was talking to my husband and telling him all of this and he too expressed interest in working in the temple as well. So if we can work it out among our work and school schedules it is very possible that we could be working the same schedule at the temple every week. I can not imagine a better place to be with your eternal companion than in the temple of the Lord. I hope this all works out and I hope that we can start ASAP. I also hope that we can someday soon enter the House of the Lord together and partake of those important and sacred ordinances. I love you all and hope you have a great day -- Ashlee

Is it really too good to be true?

So I am writing this blog to hopefully receive some insight and direction from my most cherished friends and family members. So please after reading, let me know what you think. Chase has an opportunity to do some of the summer selling with a security systems company. My Grandma Tew actually uses this company's secutriy system herself. But anway, one is his mission companions does it and last summer made over $100,000. I am not saying Chase will make that much, but even if he could make a third of that it would give us enough to pay for both of us to finish our BS degrees, as well as to pay off our car. which would both be a great relief to us and my parents. The catch is that I would stay here in Provo so we would be able to keep our insurance and my tuition reimburment, both of which I get through my job, that once I quite I am not longer eligable. So I would stay here and work, and if Chase takes this opportunity he would most likely be on the east coast. I would maybe be able to go and visit him about once a month, but he would be gone for about three and a half. We are not sure what we are going to or should do. So I am wondering what advice some of my family members and friends think. Love you all -- Ashlee
